Smarter Design — Empowering Business
Colours of Impressionism: Masterpieces from the Musée d’Orsay was an exclusive exhibition at the Art Gallery of South Australia. The exhibition charts the revolution of colour that lies at the very heart of Impressionism and included 65 masterpieces with works by Monet, Renoir, Manet, Morisot and Cézanne, among many others.
The branding avoids referencing historical typography or design styles from the time period of the Impressionists. The design uses contemporary typography and structure to create visual strength and clarity. The colour palette references the tones of impressionist art and is a nod toward the curatorial premise of the exhibition—the changing use of colour across the impressionist period.
A highly successful campaign resulting in an extended season, critical acclaim and record ticket sales for the gallery far exceeding forecasting and expectation.
