Smarter Design — Empowering Business
South Australia’s annual festival of contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander art is a landmark festival in Australia. The only festival of its kind in Australia, the festival has quickly become a focal point on the arts calendar.
Named Tarnanthi, pronounced tar-nan-dee, the word is Kaurna meaning, to come forth or appear – like the sun and the first emergence of light. This gave us the foundation for the creative and design direction. Using the photographic light technique bokeh, we used the lighting effects to create a colourful and engaging background graphic for the campaign. Contrasting with a distinct and modern typeface that was structured and contemporary in its layout and execution, the outcome lead to a unique, impactful and highly successful campaign that achieved record attendance.
