Steele Build is a South Australian construction company dedicated to building better futures through innovation. Specialising in commercial projects, custom homes, and interior fit-outs, they deliver outcomes that balance design, functionality, and sustainability.
In a market crowded with traditional builders, Steele Build needed a brand that would stand apart. Their existing identity lacked memorability and cut-through, making it harder to reach design-orientated clients who valued creativity and sustainability. The brand development process began with refining the name to create a more powerful, distinctive, and memorable identity. This foundational change informed the overall brand strategy, identity, and design system.


From a series of client workshops and industry research, we were able to discover and align the client's value drivers in collaboration. By highlighting and celebrating sustainability, transparency, human centred process, and relationship focus, we were able to drive the elevated brand refresh with a clear vision of the business and brand positioning.



In a market shaped by traditional construction brands, Steele Build required a clearer and more distinctive point of view. Our approach began by refining the name — strengthening its presence and memorability as a foundation for the broader brand system.
Through collaborative workshops and industry research, we defined the core drivers of the business: sustainability, transparency and a human-centred approach to building. This process aligned internal vision with external perception, establishing a clear and confident positioning to guide all future brand expression.
With a defined strategic foundation, the focus shifted to creating a visual and verbal system that could communicate Steele Build’s values with clarity and consistency. Typography, layout and messaging were carefully considered to reflect a balance of professionalism and design-led thinking.
Art direction and photography were elevated to better represent the quality and detail of the work, ensuring the brand could communicate with credibility across all touchpoints. The result is a flexible system designed to support consistent application while allowing the business to evolve.

Extending on the verbal brand and its core assets we gave consideration to typography and layout. Additionally, we elevated the photography and art direction to ensure the quality of the outcomes was clearly communicated. The result is a distinctive brand that is informed by the company vision allowing it to stand out in a competitive market, conveying a sophisticated and professional aesthetic that aligns with Steele Build’s values and credentials.
